The big stories
Guinea-Bissau, the surprise package. After beating hosts Tanzania 2-0 on Matchday 1, Guinea-Bissau thrashed Nigeria 3-0. With six points, they top Group L, where only one ticket is available alongside Tanzania. A massive blow for the Super Eagles, who now have serious work to do.
Ghana on the brink. The Black Stars led The Gambia 2-0 in Accra before collapsing and conceding four goals. After the defeat in Ivory Coast, Ghana have lost both of their opening games.
Congo hold Cameroon. Claude Le Roy's Red Devils took the lead through young Glid Bantsielé, before the Indomitable Lions equalised via an own goal. A valuable point for Congo after their defeat in Namibia.
Senegal and Morocco on track. Senegal earned their first win in Ethiopia thanks to Ibrahim Mbaye, while Morocco made it two wins without conceding.
Uganda keep winning. The co-hosts beat Libya 1-0, building on their impressive draw in Tunisia.
